Terms of use
Effective November 7, 2026
These terms govern your use of Astrid, a desktop application published by Ryker Flynn Tech Integrations ("we", "us"). By installing or using Astrid you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Astrid. Our privacy policy explains how information is handled.
1. Who we are
Ryker Flynn Tech Integrations is an independent data and AI engineering studio (rykerflynn.dev). Astrid is provided free of charge.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to consent to the use of Astrid, to use it. If you use Astrid on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.
3. Using Astrid
Subject to these terms, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use Astrid. You may not misrepresent Astrid as your own product, or remove its copyright or attribution notices. Open-source components included in Astrid are licensed under their own licences, listed in the third-party notices shipped with the app.
You are responsible for how you use Astrid and its output, and for complying with the laws that apply to you and with the terms of the services you connect.
4. Third-party services
Astrid works with services you choose and configure, such as AI model providers, web search, maps, image services and connected apps (for example Google or GitHub). You need your own account with those services, and your use of them is governed by their terms and policies, including any fees they charge. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their output.
5. Your content
You keep all rights in the content you enter into Astrid and, as between you and us, in the output you receive. We do not receive your content and claim no rights in it. Rights in output may also be subject to the terms of the AI provider that produced it.
6. Accuracy
AI models can make mistakes. Output may be inaccurate, incomplete or out of date, and should not be relied on as the sole source of truth or as professional advice. Review output, especially before acting on it, sending email, changing files or making decisions that affect you or others.
7. Actions Astrid takes
Depending on your settings, Astrid can act on your behalf, for example running code, editing files, browsing, controlling your computer, or sending messages through connected apps. You choose how much Astrid may do without asking in its permission settings, and you are responsible for actions taken with your approval or under the permissions you set.
8. Changes and availability
We may change, update or stop providing Astrid at any time. Updates may add, change or remove features.
9. Termination
You may stop using Astrid at any time by uninstalling it. If you materially breach these terms, your licence ends automatically.
10. Disclaimer
Astrid is provided free of charge "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about Astrid, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Statutory rights that cannot be excluded remain unaffected.
11. Limitation of liability
We are liable without limitation for damage caused intentionally or through gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz). For slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation (an obligation whose fulfilment makes proper use of Astrid possible and on which you may regularly rely), and then only for foreseeable damage typical for this kind of software. Otherwise our liability is excluded. Because Astrid is provided free of charge, the statutory standard for gifts (sections 521 and 524 of the German Civil Code) applies where it is more favourable to us.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory provisions of the law of the country where you habitually reside. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr; we are not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
13. General
If any provision of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in effect. We may update these terms; the effective date above shows the latest version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
